Preamble

We the people of the Flowing Wells Neighborhood

pledge to work together to build a community that is attractive, safe, economically viable, and a decent place in which to live and raise children.
We affirm that all people who live and work in Flowing Wells are part of we the people with the rights and responsibilities of members of a free society.
We will work in harmony and a spirit of cooperation among homeowners, tenants and businesses. We further commit to help all residents acquire the education and training needed to secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity.
To this end, we seek to promote the general welfare in Flowing Wells through the fulfillment of the social contract.

To Preserve Neighborhood Security
We will work to establish domestic tranquility with an ongoing partnership with law enforcement authorities to eliminate drug dealing, drinking, and other behavior destructive to the neighborhood. As part of this effort, we will work together to achieve effective participation in anti-crime efforts.

To Promote the Physical Appearance of Flowing Wells
In accordance with our Revitalization Strategy Plan:
1. We pledge our support to continue with cleanup efforts. We have successfully eliminated 216 tons of trash and will continue efforts to make the community more physically attractive. We will assist with facilitating emergency home repairs to those in financial need who are elderly or disabled.

2. We pledge our commitment to the Get in the Zone Project in which to rid the neighborhood of zoning violations of open storage and inoperable vehicles. We will assist all county agencies in efforts to rid our community of hazardous waste, fire hazards, etc.

3. We pledge our commitment to the construction of the Flowing Wells Community Center, a safe place for all ages to gather for community events.

4. We pledge our assistance to work with government officials to eliminate drainage problems in specific neighborhoods.

To Secure the Blessings of Liberty for the Young People
1. We will work in partnership with the Flowing Wells School District and all charter schools to insure quality education for our children. All organizations serving the Flowing Wells Community will promote parent involvement in all aspects.

2. We will work to expand recreational facilities for our children. The newly completed Flowing Wells District Park provides softball fields, the planned Curtis Road Park will include baseball fields, and Dan Felix Park will expand their soccer fields. We have a steadfast commitment for our children to have a safe environment in which to live.

3. We will spearhead efforts for Safe Routes for Schools by working with area schools and the Department of Transportation to identify areas of concern and jointly improve those conditions.

4. We will continue our efforts with the Community Justice Board by collaborating with the Pima County Attorney’s Office and the Flowing Wells Community Justice Board.

To Promote Economic Opportunity for all Residents
We promise to promote economic opportunity for all area residents through strengthening neighborhood businesses and expanding adult education and training for those seeking to improve their access to jobs. Further, we will endeavor to establish an employment “center” for those in need of compiling their resume, conducting internet job searches and faxing or emailing of their employment application.

We pledge our cooperation in working with other community members and government officials to achieve the highest level of communication.
