Introduction:
Arizona Revised Statutes 9-499.10. Infill incentive districts allow counties to create a special district to help revitalize already urbanized areas where infrastructure and services are in place. These areas often suffer from a general absence of appropriate development and investment activity, high crime percentages, loss of population and a prominent occurrence of dilapidated or abandoned buildings.
Pima County Development Services Department is developing a Business Incentive District overlay zone for Flowing Wells designed to relax certain existing land uses into compliance and offer an expedited commercial development plan review process in exchange for blight remediation and participation in Pima County's emerging Brownfields program.
